Research – Monitoring AstraZeneca Vaccine

We are working with the Drug safety research Unit on a new study.

The COVID-19 vaccines have been rigorously tested before they are approved for use in the UK population and have been shown to be safe and to work well. However, like all new medicines and vaccines, by law researchers need to continue to monitor new COVID-19 vaccines once they are approved for use in real-life conditions. The purpose of our study is to collect more information on COVID-19 vaccines in children and adults. This is an observational safety study and not a clinical trial.

The AstraZeneca vaccine has been shown to be safe and effective. The study is being conducted to continue to monitor the safety of the vaccine.

If you have been given the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine you could help with the study.

The study team are interested to hear from you whether you have any problems or no problems at all after the vaccine.
